Building Confidence and Success for all our children
Duncombe's Learning Support Department provides a secure and stimulating environment for children with additional needs, helping them learn more effectively through tailored support.
Our regular liaison between learning support staff, class teachers, and parents ensures early identification of difficulties and personalized extra support. This may include Literacy, Mathematics, listening, memory, language or communication skills, with structured, multi-sensory specialist teaching sessions on an individual or small group basis.

Providing specialist support
Some pupils have an Individual Education Plan with personalised targets, while others receive in-class support from specialist teachers or learning support assistants.
Our experienced specialist teachers and learning support assistants work closely with parents to ensure the best outcomes for each child. In some cases, additional expertise may be required from speech and language therapists, occupational therapists or educational psychologists, with whom we have close links. We value our partnership with parents and operate an open-door policy to discuss progress, provide advice, and celebrate achievements.
