As we approach the final day of what has been a truly successful half term, I would like to take a moment to celebrate the many achievements of our pupils and staff. Last week, our U11 netball team excelled in the IAPS Regional Finals, securing an outstanding second place in a fiercely contested final. The team won all their matches in the group stages, quarter-finals, and semi-finals, demonstrating exceptional skill and determination. Bravo to our talented players!

The final few offers for 11+ have now nearly all been shared, and I am delighted to report that our pupils have received an incredible 19 scholarship offers to date, with a 100% first-choice outcomes! Once finalised, we will celebrate this achievement in greater detail, but for now, congratulations to all our Year 6 pupils for their hard work and dedication, and a heartfelt thank you to our excellent teachers and supportive families.

This week, we marked Safer Internet Day with a focus on Digital Wellbeing. Pupils and staff participated in a variety of activities, and we hosted a highly engaging Digital Wellbeing Evening featuring expert speakers. It was a truly exceptional event, and I have extended my sincere gratitude to Mrs. Micele-Jones, Ms. Cartwright, Senor Torres, and Mrs. Saunders for their outstanding organisation and coordination.

I have greatly enjoyed reading all the pupil reports, celebrating their successes, and identifying clear next steps and challenges for further progress. Follow-up parents’ evenings for after half term have been communicated via Cognita Connect with booking instructions.

On Monday, our Year 3 pupils were resplendent in their Roman costumes as they travelled back in time to the Roman Empire. This hands-on learning experience was thoroughly enjoyed by all, or as they might say—Veni, vidi, vici!

Today, Woburn House led a fantastic dress-up day in support of this term’s house charity, Grove Cottage. Thank you to everyone who took part and contributed to this wonderful cause. Please do donate via the just giving page link.

As we head into half term, the children will have a well-deserved chance to recharge their batteries in preparation for an action-packed second half of the spring term. We have so much to look forward to, including, but not limited to:

  • Exciting trips, including Year 4’s visit to York
  • National Book Week
  • Parent-to-Lunch events
  • Upper School Swimming Gala
  • Mothers’ Day assemblies for Nursery, Reception, and Lower School
  • A full calendar of fixtures, including the IAPS National Football Finals
  • Parents’ evenings for Nursery to Year 5 families

Plenty to keep us all busy! Wishing you all a restful and enjoyable half term break.
